Zurphy – Expert Terms

Last Updated: September 2026

ZURPHY acts solely as a technology platform connecting users with independent experts. Services are provided by the professional, who is solely responsible for invoicing and applicable taxes.

1. Expert Status

By creating a expert account on Zurphy, you confirm that you are operating as an independent expert and not as an employee, agent, or representative of Zurphy.

You remain solely responsible for your services, pricing, qualifications, business practices, and interactions with clients.

2. Accuracy of Information

Experts agree to provide accurate and truthful information regarding:

  • Identity
  • Certifications
  • Qualifications
  • Experience
  • Services offered

Providing false or misleading information may result in suspension or removal from the platform.

3. Verification

Zurphy may review submitted information and documentation as part of its verification process.

Verification by Zurphy does not constitute a guarantee of expert competence, licensing, or legal authorization to practice.

Experts remain responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

4. Bookings and Availability

Experts are responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate availability
  • Honoring confirmed bookings
  • Communicating changes promptly
  • Managing session information

Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or unreliable conduct may result in removal from the platform.

5. Online Sessions

Experts may provide online services through Zurphy's built-in video platform, powered by Daily.co.

Online sessions booked through Zurphy must be conducted using Zurphy's built-in video platform unless Zurphy expressly authorizes otherwise.

Experts are responsible for joining sessions on time, maintaining a suitable internet connection and compatible device, and using the platform appropriately.

Experts must not attempt to move confirmed Zurphy bookings off-platform or provide alternative meeting links for the purpose of bypassing Zurphy's booking, payment, or session systems.

6. Google Calendar Integration

Experts may optionally connect their Google Calendar to Zurphy to automatically sync confirmed bookings as calendar events.

By enabling this feature, you authorize Zurphy to access your Google Calendar to create, update, and delete events related to your Zurphy bookings. This access is limited to managing events associated with Zurphy sessions and does not give Zurphy access to unrelated calendar data.

You may disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your professional settings. Disconnecting will stop future syncing but will not remove previously created events.

Google Calendar integration is governed by Google's applicable Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

7. Expert-Provided Terms and Liability Waivers

Experts may optionally upload their own terms and conditions and liability waiver documents to their Zurphy profile.

Client Acceptance. When an expert has uploaded these documents, clients must review and accept them before paying for a session. Zurphy records the exact document version accepted by the client, along with the date and time of acceptance, on the booking record.

Sole Responsibility. Experts are solely responsible for the content, legality, validity, and enforceability of their own documents, including ensuring they comply with applicable consumer protection laws. Zurphy does not review, approve, or endorse expert documents and provides this feature for convenience only.

Updates. Experts may replace their documents at any time. Updated versions apply to future bookings, while past bookings retain the version recorded at the time of acceptance.

No Override. To the extent of any conflict between an expert's documents and these Expert Terms, these Expert Terms prevail.

8. Payments and Payouts

Payments are processed through Stripe Connect.

Platform Commission. Zurphy deducts a 12% platform commission from each transaction before transferring funds to the expert.

Processing Fees. In addition to the platform commission, Stripe's processing fees (set by Stripe, typically a percentage plus a fixed amount per transaction) are also deducted from the expert's payout.

Holding Period. After a session is marked as completed, funds are held for a 24-hour period before being transferred to the expert's Stripe account. This holding period allows for dispute resolution and session verification.

Payout Schedule. Once funds reach the expert's Stripe account, payouts to the linked bank account follow the payout schedule configured in the expert's Stripe account (typically 2–7 business days depending on country and banking provider).

Zurphy Money. Sessions may be partially or fully paid using Zurphy Money (wallet balance). Wallet payments are treated identically to card payments for all commission, fee, and tax calculations.

Expert-Defined Taxes. Experts may configure up to three taxes (a name and a percentage) in their Zurphy profile. When configured, these taxes are automatically collected at checkout on top of the expert's base session price. Each tax is calculated either on the base price or cumulatively on the price including previously applied taxes, as configured by the expert. The exact tax names, rates, calculation modes, and amounts collected are recorded on each booking at the time of payment, even if the expert later changes their tax settings.

Tax Responsibility. Experts are solely responsible for determining which taxes apply to their services, setting accurate rates, and remitting the collected tax amounts to the relevant tax authorities. Collected tax amounts are transferred to the expert together with their session earnings. ZURPHY does not validate, review, or guarantee the accuracy or applicability of expert-defined tax rates, does not provide tax advice, and is not responsible for an Expert's tax compliance. Experts should consult a qualified tax advisor or their local tax authority to understand their obligations.

Commission and Taxes. ZURPHY's platform commission is calculated exclusively on the base session price and never includes tax amounts. Refunds for cancelled sessions include the base session price plus all taxes collected on that booking. Payments made through ZURPHY Money (wallet balance) are treated the same as card payments for tax purposes. Where sales tax applies to the platform commission itself, that tax is included in the 12% commission — experts are never charged anything on top of the commission for taxes on the commission.

9. Refunds and Cancellations

Experts agree to the cancellation and refund policies described below. When a refund is issued, funds may be returned to the client and the expert's payout may be adjusted accordingly.

Dispute Refunds. ZURPHY may, at its discretion, process a refund on behalf of the Expert in the event of a dispute between a Client and an Expert, or where required to comply with applicable law. In such cases, the refund amount may be deducted from the Expert's pending or future payouts, and the Expert acknowledges that ZURPHY acts as the payment facilitator authorized to issue such refunds on their behalf.

Client-Initiated Cancellations

  • More than 24 hours before the session — Full refund. The client receives a full refund to their original payment method. Because Stripe does not refund processing fees on refunds, the refund amount is reduced by the original Stripe processing fee — this fee is borne by the client, not the expert. Any portion paid via Zurphy Money is credited back to the client's wallet.
  • Within 24 hours of the session — Late cancellation. No refund is issued to the client. Instead, 90% of the payment is transferred to the expert as a late-cancellation fee; the client forfeits the remaining 10%.
  • Rescheduled sessions. If the expert has rescheduled the session, the 24-hour cancellation window is waived — the client may cancel and receive a full refund at any time prior to the new session time.

Expert-Initiated Cancellations

  • When an expert cancels a confirmed session, the client receives a full refund of the payment amount to their original payment method.
  • Because Stripe does not refund processing fees on refunds, the original Stripe processing fee from the cancelled transaction becomes a debt owed by the expert. This fee is accumulated on the expert's account and is automatically deducted from their next payout(s) until the full amount is recovered.
  • Any portion paid via Zurphy Money is credited back to the client's wallet. Wallet-only payments do not incur Stripe processing fees, so no fee debt is created for these transactions.

10. Reviews

Only clients who have completed a verified booking through Zurphy may submit reviews.

Experts may not:

  • Purchase reviews
  • Incentivize fake reviews
  • Manipulate ratings
  • Harass clients regarding reviews

Zurphy reserves the right to remove fraudulent reviews.

11. Expert Conduct

Experts agree to:

  • Treat clients respectfully
  • Provide services expertly
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Comply with applicable laws
  • Respect client privacy

Harassment, discrimination, fraud, or abusive conduct may result in immediate account suspension.

12. Limitation of Liability

Experts acknowledge that Zurphy acts solely as a platform facilitating discovery, booking, scheduling, and payment processing.

Experts remain solely responsible for the services they provide and any consequences arising from those services.

13. Account Suspension or Removal

Zurphy reserves the right to suspend or terminate expert accounts that:

  • Violate these terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Provide false information
  • Repeatedly fail to honor bookings
  • Create risks for users or the platform

14. Changes to These Terms

Zurphy may update these Expert Terms from time to time.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any updated version.
